Transfer and Articulation Specialist

Job Summary:

Carthage College seeks applications for a Transfer and Articulation Specialist to assist the Registrar and Vice President of Enrollment in the development, review, and renewal of articulation and transfer pathway agreements with two and four-year partners. This position will research best practices regarding transfer pathways between two and four year institutions.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Works with representatives from to two and four-year partners to consider and create new transfer pathways
    Communicates critical and timely transfer related information to interested transfer applicants
  • Reviews transfer transcripts for applicable Carthage credit
  • Provides timely and accurate processing of institutional transfer credit, advanced standing,
    and advanced placement credit
  • Creates, monitors, and updates transfer guides for use by admissions staff, prospective
    students, and current students
  • Works with current students regarding transfer questions and completion of transfer approval forms
  • Develops regional relationships with educational partners
  • Works with first-year advisors to develop a seamless experience for the transfer population
  • Works with the college Registrar to maintain transfer retention and graduation data
  • Utilizes research and data to suggest potential transfer pathways
  • Responds to, and facilitates data requests related to transfer activity
  • Maintains a report on the status of all college articulation agreements
  • Works with department chairs to manage articulation programs

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or significant related experience
  • Minimum of three years higher education experience

Additional Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Requires excellent oral and written communication skills to effectively communicate, develop relationships, and collaborate with employees, faculty members, students, parents, general community members
  • Requires the ability to use a personal computer, Web browser, Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel), and Student Information Systems
  • Requires knowledge of and the ability to use a variety of standard office equipment such as a telephone, computer keyboard, scanner, and copier
  • Ability to independently set goals and determine best course of action to achieve desired results
  • Demonstrated success with project management skills
  • Ability to confidentially handle student records in accordance with FERPA
  • Possess strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Possess excellent customer service skills and proven ability to develop and sustain productive customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritize/handle multiple tasks and work with deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to promote collaboration, teamwork, and involve all stakeholders in decision-making processes
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, and confidential service environment
  • Possess sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of a diverse population
  • Knowledge of transfer practices and policies and experience working with articulation agreements
